St. Thomas Boys High School, Aldona is a Catholic school located in Goa, India. It was founded in 1923 by Edward Soares for the education of youth in Goa. After his death, in the year 1956, the school was handed over to the Diocese of Goa. Later in 1962, it was handed over to the care of the Missionaries of St. Francis de Sales (MSFS).The school aims at imparting Catholic valued based education and stands for academic excellence, development of skills, and character formation based on the love of God and the service of humanity as modeled on the person of Jesus Christ. The school was upgraded to St. Thomas Higher Secondary School, with co-education on July 13th, 1992 with Rev. Fr. Jerson D’Souza, MSFS, as its first principal.
The Higher Secondary School started in 1992 with the Commerce stream in the Boys High School Building during the afternoon session. The following year 1993-1994, the Arts stream was also begun. On 14th February 1998, the new Higher Secondary Building, (St. Thomas Educational Complex) was inaugurated and Higher Secondary School classes were held in the morning from then on. In 2004, the Science Stream was added to the existing Commerce and Arts streams.
With the General Streams complete, the Management embarked on the Vocational stream with the course in Catering & Restaurant Management (CRM) in 2009. The much-needed 2nd division in the Commerce Stream was added in June 2015. The Higher Secondary School celebrated its 25-year milestone on July 13th, 2016-17.
